March 18, 2013 – Naples, Florida
On Monday, March 18, Fox 4 Rising (Ft. Myers, Naples, Cape Coral) interviewed director Nicole Flesvig Bruland about the Global Kids Learning Adventures educational enrichment program which is launching its summer camps for kids in June.
“Years ago, the Florida Department of Education did a study which indicated that foreign languages should be part of our school curriculum as early as elementary school, but that hasn’t happened yet,” said Ms. Bruland. “With Global Kids Learning Adventures, we want to get kids started on learning about world cultures in a fun, hands-on way.”
Kids explore the language, culture, art, sports, dance, and food of a different country each day and document their “travels” with a passport. Global Kids was born out of a need to provide what the heavily legislated public school system no longer can in a creative, exciting way in order to help kids acquire new skills and strengthen their knowledge in other areas.
